Problem Statement

India's elderly population will rise by 15% by 2036, with two-thirds relying on family care.

Caregivers face increasing strain due to rising healthcare costs, longer life expectancy, and a shift toward preventive care. With limited social security and only 1.5% of the budget spent on healthcare (India), there’s a critical need for innovative solutions to support caregivers.

We conducted secondary research across categories like technology, ergonomics, market trends, and caregiver behaviours. This allowed us to understand the current landscape, develop hypotheses, and choose the final ones for deeper exploration.

Our primary research focused on understanding the experiences of family caregivers, care recipients, and informal caregivers. We developed inquiry questions and selected appropriate tools to explore key areas of caregiving. By interviewing various stakeholders, we aimed to identify challenges and opportunities within the caregiving ecosystem, which helped shape our findings.

In the insight generation phase, we synthesize user interview data to uncover key needs and behaviors. By clustering topics and using the "5 Whys" method, we identify root causes and motivations. This leads to "How Might We" statements that inspire innovative solutions to the challenges identified.

In the ideation phase, we brainstormed diverse solutions to address the challenges identified in the insights.
